Hey, I’m Jean-Luc, the guy behind Big Boof 👋

I’m obsessed with being outdoors. Running, cycling, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing (even fishing off my paddleboard)… if it gets me moving and outside, I’m in.

A few years ago, after being diagnosed with alopecia universalis, sun protection became a non-negotiable part of my life. That’s when I realised how hard it was to find sunglasses that actually worked for an active lifestyle without costing a fortune.

So I built my own.

Big Boof sunglasses are designed to move with you. They feature UV400 protection, polarized lenses to reduce glare, and lightweight frames built for comfort and stability. Whether you’re training hard or just enjoying a day outside, they’re made to stay put and protect your eyes while still looking sharp.

Big Boof is about getting outside, backing yourself, and doing what you love with gear that keeps up.

We are based in Auckland, New Zealand and currently only ship within New Zealand.
